Mission Statement.
The South Dakota Building Authority (the “Authority”) is a body politic and corporate and a public instrumentality of the State of South Dakota. The Authority was created to provide low cost financing for buildings owned by the State of South Dakota. The South Dakota Building Authority is committed to facilitating the financing process and ensuring its integrity.
Interest paid on the Authority’s tax-exempt bonds and notes is exempt from federal income taxation. The result is substantial savings on capital projects, which saves state agencies money on leases to the Authority.
